The Municipality of Timisoara is implementing the “Regional Integrated Agro-Logistic System” project – HURO/0802/153_AF, co-financed by The European through The Regional Development Fund, within The Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 ( www.huro-cbc.eu ), Priority Axis 2 - “Strengthen social and economic cohesion of the border area, Key Area of intervention 2.1 - “Support for cross-border business cooperation”, Action - 2.1.1 - “Development of business infrastructure”, co-financed by the state budget and local budget of Municipality of Timisoara.
The project aims to develop the business infrastructure of the cross-border economical area Timisoara-Szeged in order to improve the region’s economical competitiveness.
Beside the extension of the logistic facilities of the Wholesale Market Timisoara trough the construction of the new 18 compartments covered market hall for the agro-foods, in total area of 685, 83 m2, for the producers of the Partners, within this project it was foreseen the introduction of some new informatics system like:
a digital display systemthat will allow a real time view of the information regarding the offers and prices of purchasable products in each of the Timisoara-Szeged wholesale markets;
an online cross-border Timisoara-Szeged integratedcommunication system - in order to facilitate the information and the wholesale commerce operations between the cross-border producers;
an access security systemin the Wholesale Market in Timisoara, including the software, the barrier and the personalized access cards, in order to control in and out flow of dealers and vehicles;
a monitoring system, including: cameras, a monitoring and control point; this will ensure the activities’ safety and the surveillance of stored goods.
Within this project, on the 26 th of November 2012, at 11 a.m, at the Timisoara Wholesale Market, situated on Ovidiu Balea Street, No.2, there will take place an Information Session for the producers from the cross-border area regarding the facilities offered for them.
