Novi Sad (Serbia)

Novi Sad is the second city in Serbia, having a population of 299,294 inhabitants.

It is the capital of the autonomous province of Vojvodina and a large industrial and cultural center.

In 1999, the city was bombed by NATO and left without water, electricity and bridges.

The city is located in the South Baèka region, on the left bank of the Danube. In the city's population there are 860 Romanians (0.28%).

Following the existing good relations, on Timișoara Day in 2005 a "Fellowship and Cooperation Protocol" was signed between the two friend cities: Timișoara and Novi Sad.
